Katelyn

Katelyn has been diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome and is now 15 years old. Katelyn also has glaucoma in both eyes.  In her left eye she went through two surgeries to try to prolong her vision, 1st – tube shunt, and then she  had a retinal reattachment  and surgery.

Unfortunately, Katelyn has been diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome and is now 15 years old. Katelyn also has glaucoma in both eyes.  In her left eye she went through two surgeries to try to prolong her vision, 1st – tube shunt, and then she  had a retinal reattachment  and surgery. Unfortunately, these surgeries did not sustain her vision and Katelyn has lost her vision in her left eye.  Due to the continued high pressures in her right eye, the doctors are now recommending surgery on her right eye. Katelyn described by mom as a old soul in a young girls body has a wish to see and experience Niagara Falls while she still has her vision. We can not wait to share this experience with Katelyn.
